A Frantastic Christmas! Happy Birthday Uncle Doug!

Xmas marks my big brother's birthday. I'd just like to take a minute to wish Uncle Dougie a happy and wonderful birthday, which he is enjoying in Spain!

This year my friend Callie and her mother invited Evan and I to come over and have Christmas!!! Evan got all dressed in his special xmas jammies and in the morning we went over there and guess what....Santa left presents for him there! Strangely enough he left presents for me there too ;-) And hanukkah harry left presents for Callie and her mother as well. Evan loved it, he especially liked the pretty tree and their dog Ruby. His favorite gift was the shoebox Callie's boots came in and we had a hard time getting him out. He also liked ripping the paper and getting a cookie at 9 in the morning. We can't wait till next year and are so greatful to have wonderful friends to include us in their holiday traditions.

We Met Kate Gosselin!!!

For those of you who don't know, i'm a huge fan of the show Jon and Kate plus eight. I watched through my pregnancy and ever since! Well I heard she was in town signing books so I figured we just had to go. I packed Evan up, sat in bumper to bumper traffic for an hour and a half, parked, got the baby out in the ice and snow, walked to the store...just to be told that it was closed and she wasn't signing any more books. Well luckily for me she came back to the area!! This time I got there early and Evan and I got to meet her and get her picture. I was very excited, Evan was a real trooper all day and Kate seemed to like him too!

Playing in the Snow!

We got our first big snow this week, and let Evan get into his spiffy new sled and enjoy the winter weather. Unfortuantely he dosen't have snow boots yet so he had to stay in the sled but he had a great time anyway. We also went to Meghan and Hailey's birthday party and played in a ball pit for the first time. It was fabulous.

Evan's One Year Pics

Evan and Maggie went in for their one year old pictures today. Of course it helped that we both had coupons for free pictures, the girl was nice enough to take one of Evan and his girl Maggie for FREESIES. So enjoy!

Evan had his first birthday party at Gymboree this weekend. It was a great success. We had a wonderful time and Miss Barb was fabulous. Thank you everyone for coming to help make Evan's day a special one. And a super special thanks to Jamie and Callie for helping me make Evan an awesome Elmo cake!

One Year Old!!

Happy birthday to Evan! It has been quite a year. Absolutely the best year in my life. Some years change you, the year I got married I went from a woman to a wife, and last year I went from a wife to a mother. I knew a lot about babies before having Evan but there were something that I thought I knew that I had all wrong. I KNEW I would have to change diapers...I didn't know I would have a little sadness at each diaper change because it would be one less diaper I GET to change. I knew babies cried, but I didn't know I would want to cry every time I heard him cry. I knew I'd have to play peek a boo ad nauseam but I didn't know I would love it and laugh every time. I knew I'd be silly, I didn't know I would have no problem picking up my child and dancing in a crowded mall. I knew I loved my husband and he would be an amazing father, I didn't know how it would feel when my son said dada and smiled as his father walked in the door. I knew I would worry but WOW I had no idea what worrying was. I knew I would love my baby, but all the cliches fail to clarify how much I love him. I love him so much it hurts, and I have loved (almost) every day this past year has brought us. I'll miss his babyhood but look forward to his toddlerhood and the joys it will bring. I'm so proud of my Evan, and though i don't think I could ever love him more, every morning when I pick him up, my heart grows a little and I love him even more. Thank you all for the birthday wishes, and thinking of our family!

This marks my 100th post on Evan's blog. Wow, and this week Evan turns one year old! Insane how fast time flies. This week we took Evan to meet Mr. Santa Clausenstein. I thought he would be excited since in the past everytime he's met a character like Elmo he's LOVED it. NOT the case. At first he was excited pointing to the snowmen and the decorations. As we got closer he got warier and warier. Finally he started clinging to me with all his strength and wouldn't let me put him on Santa's lap. We ended up trying twice and in the end we got a good picture, but it looks like he was enjoying himself, which he most certainly was not. Enjoy...A friend of mine is working on photoshopping Andy out ;-) We love him but I wanted one with just Evan and the big guy. Enjoy

This was Evan's first turkey day. We were down in North Carolina to celebrate. We celebrated Evan's first birthday a little early, my birthday, and of course Thanksgiving. Evan was very excited to see everyone. He was great on the airplane and had so much fun with his granparents, his Uncle Bill and his Aunt Gabby! He can't wait to meet his new cousin due in April. Here are a few pics, but I took something like 150 so it's hard to choose ;-)
